About Us

I opened Needle Point Breeze in 2002 as an outlet for my own love of needlepoint. As a teenager in high school, I taught myself to stitch and for many years, it was a hobby I enjoyed. After I was married, I worked part time at a needlepoint store and I enjoyed it so much, I decided to open my own shop.

The store name, Needle Point Breeze, comes from Point Breeze, a residential area of Pittsburgh where the shop is located. We are close to the Universities and some major shopping districts. NPB is open three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

What I love about needlepoint is that it is relaxing and therapeutic. I’ve made Christmas ornaments and stockings for all my children, nieces and nephews. Once you learn the stitches, it’s easy to do while waiting in the carpool line for the kids, watching TV, talking or listening to music.

On the other hand, I love the challenge of working on a complicated canvas, learning new stitches and working with a variety of fibers in order to create a colorful, tactile work of art.

Come in and visit, I know you’ll find something you’ll love to stitch.  Natalie Kelley
